Free texts for learning German or Spanish
These are sample texts from the LingoTello library, published on the web so you can read them for free: short stories and topics about daily life, work, travel or society, written for a specific level from A1 to C2.
Every text comes with a sentence-by-sentence English translation, the meaning of each phrase (tap it to see it) and a few questions at the end. In the app, each text is also read aloud with a natural voice, and the highlight follows the word you hear.
How to use these texts
- 1Read in "glosses" mode firstEach group of words carries its meaning underneath. You don't need to understand everything: follow the thread.
- 2Then in the language onlySwitch to "German only" or "Spanish only" and read again. Tap a phrase when you get stuck.
- 3Answer the questionsThree short questions at the end tell you whether you caught what matters.
